Can You Play Sims 2 Without Disk 1

No, you do no longer choose the biggest disc itself to PLAY, presented you have already got Sims 2 put in. Each enhance%. Replaces the previous one thoroughly. This implies in case you upload Nightlife, you do no longer use the Sims 2 base disc to play anymore, then once you upload college, it replaces the Nightlife disc as your play disc etc.

How To Install Sims 4 From Disc

If you have a base game that was released after September 2012, you MUST install Origin and MUST be online with it to verify the game then, put Origin in offline mode. You only need the internet the first time but, you will need to keep Origin on the computer.
If you have an older base game and don't want any EA made DLC then, you don't need Origin.

I STUPIDLY uninstalled my Sims 3 games a few days ago, then I installed them again only to find the base gamer(5 year old disc) wasn't going to work, I had just purchased the 'new' version so I installed that one, finally realising it needs constant internet to play and everything goes thru ORIGIN, even downloading all your bought store products is a pain because it goes thru ORIGIN, I have just realised to download products I just open up the Sims launcher and it still seems to allow downloading from there thankgod, so yes, if you uninstall your old base game, you will need to buy the NEW VERSION which requires CONSTANT INTERNET CONNECTION, BE WARNED to the people who haven't uninstalled their old base game, STICK TO WHAT YOU HAVE ALREADY, IF YOU DON'T WANT CONSTANT INTERNET CONNECTION GAMEPLAY.

If you have the original 2009 release version of the base game DVD disc you can install and run it without Origin, though you will be prompted to install EADM (which is optional). The installation can even be done with the computer completely disconnected from the internet.

I can't install my Sims3 game and I think it has something to do with origin. Does anybody know of a way to solve this issue? I can't figure out how to install it properly.

Yes. Origin messes up everything. I recommend buying the disc.

If you purchased the disk version of the base game after Sept 2012 you have to log into Origin to play.
Origin has an Offline mode. When you log in you should be able to put it into offline mode. Then next time you play you should be able to log into Origin while off line.
If you are installing a digital download version you should use the Dowoad button that is revealed when you ick the i button on the game icon in your Origin My Games page. You get DLC Incompatibility errors if you use the other download button.

hey lauriej0823, if you saw earlier postings you would see that origin connection requirement is for any base game disc or digital bought after Sept 2012
for cant connect to origin error try resetting your sims 3 doc folder and if that doesnt work then reinstall origin

I play on a MacBook Pro and even though Origin is now available for Macs, I too refuse to download it because of all the problems it caused on my PC . I have no problems adding new expansions on discs or downloading from the EA store, even those discs that don't actually have the Worlds on them (like Dragon Valley and Hidden Springs).

Did you buy your base game after Sept 2012? If not then I wouldn't expect you to have problems.

No, I bought my base game in 2011. I guess I should have said that, if it tends to make a difference. The only problem I had was trying to get my free sims points for the base game-I never did get them!

As mentioned above, if you bought the base game after Sept 2012 then no, there is no way to avoid Origin.
Running the shortcut won't help as all it does is run the Origin client, from which you then launch The Sims 3
If the Origin icon is showing in your system tray, try right-clicking it. You should get a menu with some options. At the top it should show The Sims 3, clicking that will run The Sims 3 launcher. You can also open the Origin client from there. I'm not sure why Origin would start up that way though.

Hey guys, just want to let you know that I have several games installed for The Sims 3. I have never had to use Origin, but I do have it installed. I just never open it, run it, or log in
I'm starting to have problems getting my launcher to pop up in Windows 7, though & I'm wondering if that's part of the problem or if it will help.
