Hello, I wanted to get an input regarding directx9 compatible games.
About a month ago, switched from XP to Windows 7 32-bit, with 4 GB RAM, and a Nvidia 8400 (64-bit) 512MB DDR2 graphics card. Performance of some older games didn't not decline too much.
A week later, I upgraded my graphics card to Nvidia GT 220 1GB (128-bit). And I experienced a lot of stuttering in some directx9 compatible games that used to run better with the older 8400 GS (on windows 7)
Would it help me if I return to XP, which will give me more free RAM, and better performance on directx9 games, and will it allow my new card to perform better in XP?
Is it because GT 220 1GB uses more processing memory and providing more features than the older 8400 GS, which is causing games to stutter?
I wanted to be absolutely sure, whether it is Windows 7 that is not allowing my graphics card to perform better (as it is using too much of my ram) or could the graphics cards be faulty (FYI: Some newer games that support Directx11 run alright)
Need Suggestions ASAP!

Although we’re now on DirectX 11 for Windows Vista, 7 and 8, and the next Windows will probably come with DirectX 12, Windows XP is stuck on DirectX 9 which is now over 10 years old.
